Responsibilities

In this role, under the general supervision of assigned managerial staff, you will perform professional accounting work, including auditing, analyzing, and verifying fiscal records and reports, preparing financial and statistical reports, providing information to staff regarding accounting practices and procedures, as well as reconciling general ledger accounts.

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Ensuring expenditures are charged to the correct accounts and cost centers
  • Updating cash receipts and cash disbursements by reviewing reports
  • Preparing monthly schedules using G/L and analyzing/updating general investment accounts and their monthly accrual of interest
  • Tracking monthly journal entries of financial data into appropriate financial systems and analyzing miscellaneous expenses
  • Interacting with customers and staff at all levels
  • Identifying solutions to moderate problems in a timely manner and evaluating options to implement solutions
  • Leading various projects and handling multiple competing tasks and demands within a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

To qualify, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent, 3 years’ experience performing related accounting functions, and good knowledge of governmental accounting practices and procedures, fund accounting and fiscal management. Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and a variety of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite) required. Excellent analytical, problem solving, written/oral communication and interpersonal skills will be expected.
