Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the organizations enterprise insurance, worker safety and risk mitigation programs to formulate, implement, administer and evaluate risk management strategies that will efficiently and cost effectively manage risk.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Analyzing and maintaining insurance programs
  • Handling insurance renewals to ensure the best class coverage for employees and managing insurer relationships to implement cost effective programs and services
  • Working closely with departments throughout the enterprise to oversee risk management programs and implement best practices to reduce risk and mitigate loss
  • Facilitating insurance analysis and synergies for acquisitions
  • Managing worker’s compensation claims to include renewing insurance benefits
  • Assisting with the development of effective and compliant workplace safety standards
  • Developing and implementing appropriate training programs to promote a safe working environment
  • Conducting worker safety assessments across the organization and generating reports and metrics to assess the safety in the work environment
  • Evaluating claim data, carrier recommendations and individual findings relative to processes or practices that are placing the organization at risk and how to respond to those risks

Qualifications

To qualify, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Health Care Administration, at least 6 years of Risk Management, Insurance or Business Continuity experience, and a working knowledge of risks associated with operation of a healthcare/manufacturing organization. Familiarity managing relationships with a worker’s compensation carrier and knowledge of loss forecasting and analysis, reserving and financial reports will be expected, as will the ability to analyze and data mine from a variety of sources for evaluation of effectiveness; trends and/or gaps, business need, and efforts that impact metrics. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, superior analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills are a must, as is excellent oral/written communication skills. Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP) preferred.
