Along with leading a team of RNs, technicians and ancillary staff in both an administrative and clinical capacity, you will oversee the multi-site, multi-shift and multi-state management of all Cord Blood site collections staff, while managing hospital functions that include staff coverage, inventory, and logistics.


Responsibilities include:


  • Ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement initiatives, safety and risk management requirements, as well as hospital and NYBC policies and procedures
  • Performing on-site visits and supervising hospital activities
  • Training, coaching counseling and mentoring new and existing staff
  • Overseeing critical supplies and equipment at the collection sites and the transfer of SOPs, and required documents
  • Participating in the overall planning process of NCBP for the collection sites
  • Supporting quality framework, which includes creating both clinical and service qualify indicators
  • Coordinating activities with other departments, collection sites and professional/medical staff
  • Maintaining and updating training profiles and competency for hospital staff
  • Leading the set-up, organization and validation of new collections sites
  • Participating in internal/external collection site inspections
  • Participating in donor education programs
  • Overseeing collections reporting and analysis
  • Assisting in writing, reviewing, implementation and modification of all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and related Forms for hospital activities
  • Assist with the review of maternal records and assignment of donor eligibility
  • Assisting with the Informed Consent Renewal Process
  • Conducting weekly/monthly meetings with staff to address equipment, scheduling, goals and objectives, performance metrics and improvement activities
  • Handling other related duties as needed


To qualify, you must have a NYS RN License, BSN (Master’s in Health Administration preferred), and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. At least 5 years of nursing experience, including 3 years in a supervisory/management role within a teaching/hospital system will be expected, as will superior analytical, problem-solving, oral/written communication and organizational skills. Prior OB/GYN and Clinical Trial (data collection) experience preferred.
