    We are looking for a motivated and organized postdoctoral fellow to support a scientific team conducting translational research projects in hematology, blood disorders and stem cell biology. You will play an integral role in conducting independent research, developing and implementing technical protocols, analyze data, present findings to the laboratory, and help maintain the laboratory.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Conducting and designing independent research under the direction of lab Principle Investigator (PI)
    • Performing cell culture, genomic analysis, ELISA assays, histology, flow cytometry and other molecular bench work
    • Processing human and murine tissues
    • Managing laboratory resources, ordering reagents and other lab supplies as needed.
    • Managing mouse colonies, including genotyping
    • Handling and working with mice on a regular basis for routine experiments
    • Summarizing experimental data timely and assisting in drafting figures, results, and methods for publication under the direction of the PI
    • Leading junior research assistants/technicians/students.
    • Acquiring a thorough understanding of the present scientific literature relating to the research in the laboratory.
    • Presenting all research findings to other members of the laboratory
    • Identifying and implementing process improvements
    • Handling other related functions as needed


    Successful candidate will have a doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering or related field, along with hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, mouse handling, flow cytometry, and RT-PCR analysis. Expertise with immunohistochemistry, histology, microscopy, small animal procedures, genetic mouse models, ELISA assays and other molecular biology assays is desired. Good laboratory technique, superior problem-solving, organizational, and oral/written communication skills are required.
