As an integral member of our team, you will manage NYBC’s payroll operations for over 1000 union and non-union employees and coordinate payroll processing for four operating divisions. This includes the processing and oversight of multistate complex payrolls, ensuring our enterprise-wide Workday Payroll system, procedures, and people support the efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of our bi-weekly payrolls.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance, along with 5+ years experience in automated payroll processing which includes some experience in timekeeping implementation, and at least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory/managerial role. Advanced knowledge of payroll tax and accounting principles, wage and hour laws, experience with union payrolls, and hands-on experience with automated payroll systems, preferably Workday, required. Knowledge of cloud-based and timekeeping systems will be expected, as will taxation of employees on Visas working in the US. You must also be familiar with a variety of software applications, be proficient in Excel, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving, oral/written communication, organizational, planning, and PC skills are all essential. Certified Payroll Professional preferred.
