Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Generalist to assist in providing a wide range of HR services and support to staff. The successful candidate will participate in various HR functions including new employee orientation, leave administration, including Paid Family Leave, FMLA, Worker’s Compensation, etc., while applying best practices and helping with the New York Blood Centers efforts in creating a strong customer service oriented environment, dedicated to delivering efficient, accurate and timely collateral in support of the organization’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 3+ years of HR experience that includes leave management. e.g. FMLA, Paid Family Leave, Worker’s Compensation, etc.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization
  •  Ability to administer leave of absence requests in accordance with federal, state, city and NYBC’s guidelines and policies
  • Experience managing full life cycle leave administration
  • Working knowledge of Department of Labor regulations in New York
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and technological skills
  • Ability to work within team-based structure
  • Commitment to the mission of the New York Blood Center
