This role is responsible troubleshooting, repairs, calibrations, and routine maintenance to verify the performance of highly complex biomedical equipment and systems, used in healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities include:

• Validate, repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect complex medical equipment, instrumentation, and systems. Perform routine repairs, inspections, and installations of NYBC owned equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems, and monitor completion of preventive maintenance activities performed by outside vendors.
• Maintain annual calibration on all equipment used to perform PM and repairs (i.e. meters, safety analyzers, etc.).
• Review outcome of preventive maintenance actions and make recommendations to department manager
• Provide in-service and training and assist staff in using and interpreting biomedical equipment.
• Collaborate with Information Systems to ensure Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
• Understand and comply with Joint Commission, FACT and other applicable standards and regulations.

To qualify, you must have an Associate's degree in electronics or biomedical equipment technology or related field with a minimum of five years' related experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment. Must have valid driver license. Any combination of education, training and experience that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.
