Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting in the management of employee benefits, retirement plans, and employee engagement efforts for the organization.

 

  • Assists in development, recommendation and installation of approved, new, modified and existing plans and employee benefit plans and policies.
  • Assists in development of cost control procedures to assure maximum coverage at the least possible cost to company and employee.
  • Conducts benefits and retirement plan analysis and audits to identify internal trends and compliance improvements. Ensures prompt and accurate compliance for all benefit and retirement programs.
  • Participates in area and industry surveys and assists in reviewing experience data and plan utilization reports. Analyzes the results and provides recommendations.
  • Collaborates with benefits and retirement broker and assists in developing strategic recommendations for review by management.
  • Maintains contracts, summary plan descriptions and communicates changes to participants as required and complies with all regulations and requirements.
  • Administers regulatory compliance for FMLA, COBRA, ACA filing, Medicare and Medicaid audits and others as needed.
  • Provides on-going benefits education to employees and management, responds to benefit inquiries and complaints in a timely manner and ensures accuracy and professionalism. Communicates benefits offerings and changes to employees and maintains and creates benefits materials.
  • Liaisons with third party benefits administrators, carriers and regional counterparts. • Builds and maintains positive relationships with vendors, brokers, and other internal and external parties. • Maintains, edits, corrects and enters all benefit related transactions into HCM and other systems and performs audits in ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Ensures vendors receive accurate eligibility information.
  • Administers a variety of health and wellness benefit plans and ancillary benefits programs such as tuition reimbursement, wellness programs and others as needed.
  • Assists with planning and coordination of Benefits events including but not limited to, annual Health and & Wellness Fair, health and retirement plan on-site meetings, workshops, Open Enrollment, Flu Shots, Employee Recognition programs, and other events as needed.
  • Supports key initiatives at all levels withing the organization and assists in optimizing engagement efforts, understanding, and utilization of benefit programs.
  • Assists with developing and implementing strategies to increase employee engagement within the organization.
  • Administers retirement plans (403 (b)/457(b)/457(f)), FSA, HSA, Commuter Benefits.
  • Reconciles monthly payments to carriers and unions.
  • Facilitates New Hire Benefits Orientation.
  • Reviews, updates, and maintains the Intranet content as necessary. Ensures information, plan documents, materials, forms, posted on the site are up to date and regulatory compliant.
  • Assists with 5500 filing, nondiscrimination testing, and plan audits.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in business or health administration or equivalent. Five+ years of Benefits Administration experiences.

 

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $90,000.00 /year to $95,000.00/year. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.

 

Unless otherwise specified, all posted opportunities are located in the New York or Greater Tri-State office locations.
