Responsibilities

This position is responsible for supporting a scientific team conducting translational research in hematology, blood disorders and stem cell biology. The person would be responsible for conducting cellular and molecular studies using animal models and culture system, analyzing data and presenting the findings to the laboratory, and writing the manuscript.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct and design independent research under the direction of lab Principle Investigator (PI).
  • Conduct various experiments including cell culture, analyzing normal and malignant hematopoiesis and hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells in various mouse models
  • Summarize experimental data timely and assist in drafting figures, results, and methods for publication under the direction of the PI.
  • Lead junior research assistants/technicians/students.
  • Acquiring a thorough understanding of the present scientific literature relating to the research in the laboratory.
  • Presenting research findings to other members of the laboratory.

 

Qualifications

Education:
A doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.


Experience:
Must have hands-on experience with cell culture, flow cytometry analyses, molecular biologic techniques, and animal handling. 

Experience in flow cytometry, animal handling, and cell culture.

 

 

Knowledge:

Knowledge of computer science, genomics, and molecular biology.

 

 

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $82,232.00p/yr. to $92,960.00 p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
