This position is responsible for supporting a scientific team conducting research in hematology and blood disorders. The person would be responsible for conducting independent research, developing and implementing technical protocols, analyzing data, presenting their findings to the laboratory and helping to maintain the laboratory.
The primary responsibility is the characterization of pathogenesis factors in the Babesia parasite that allows the pathogen to manipulate host erythrocyte cell for its own benefit. Responsibilities also include:

PhD (PhD preferred) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Biology, Genetics or related field with 2-3 years of relevant experience in at least two of the following areas:
For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $81,008.00 p/yr. to $91,532.00 p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
