Responsibilities

New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe) is seeking a Manager of Campaigns and Individual Giving to oversee and direct strategy, development, and execution of all annual and long-range conversion plans for current and prospective donor groups. This includes active and lapsed donors, monthly donors, digital donors, social media followers, volunteers, prospects, and others to build and develop campaigns to achieve revenue goals to support NYBCE’s mission to provide a safe and reliable community blood supply and advance public health.

 

NYBCe is investing in growth and life sciences with a new campus in Rye, New York, and a transformation of its existing building in Manhattan into a collaborative ecosystem with incubator space for life science start-ups to further life-saving research, facilitate drug commercialization, boost economic growth, and advance cellular therapies and biotech.  The organization is in a period of rapid growth and change and seeks to build a new development team to develop and cultivate new donors, expand messaging into digital channels, retain and grow supporters, and educate the public about NYBCe’s research accomplishments and endeavors.

 

The Manager of Campaigns and Individual Giving will help this initiative to implement data-driven tactics to retain and grow its donor base and align all fundraising channels, email, direct mail, and digital, to a cohesive strategic plan. S/he will lead the development of a comprehensive strategy for donor appeals and ensure all solicitations incorporate consistent and compelling messaging that supports NYBCe’s expansion. S/he will focus on acquiring, renewing, and upgrading annual donors and overseeing digital fundraising across all platforms. S/he will develop new tactics to maximize ROI, automate marketing touchpoints, and build stakeholder relationships. The Manager is a creative fundraising professional who can deliver compelling messages to multiple audiences via many channels. S/he is a highly organized project manager, excels at leading cross-departmental collaborations, and uses a data-driven approach to analyze and refine strategies.

 

  • Oversee direct mail and digital marketing project implementation, develop and execute broad-based fundraising strategies, and work with external vendors and internal constituents.
  • Lead overall strategy and execution of digital fundraising campaigns, including email marketing, paid media, and social media.
  • Develop and execute compelling campaign strategies and testing plans; analyze and share results to increase actions and revenue.
  • Develop and oversee NYBCe’s campaigns to generate income from donors through strategic multichannel marketing efforts and educate the general public about NYBCe’s impact.
  • Conceptualize, script, direct, and produce content that leverages donors’ emotional connection with NYBCe to inspire support.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and vendors to ensure the timely production and approval of print, email, and online campaign assets; guide the development and design direction for these fundraising materials.
  • Draft copy for all print and digital appeal efforts.
  • Perform response analysis and prepare fundraising activity reports to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental revenue projections and expense budget; monitor and adjust the forecast and manage costs throughout the year.
  • Develop, execute, and oversee stewardship plan.
  • An ability to work on big strategy plans and day-to-day tasks.
  • Where appropriate, supports NYBCe events that further our partnerships and engagement of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success working as a team member and developing effective relationships with senior leaders, senior management, and business and community leaders. 
  • Makes recommendations for improvement of practices in the assigned business unit.
  • Attends professional development seminars, conferences, and meetings as required.
  • Any related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience:

  • Six years of campaign and individual giving management
  • Experience in appeal solicitation writing
  • Prior experience in creating online and annual giving campaigns.
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, and project manage concurrent communication campaigns in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills required, including proofreading skills.
  • Experience with online fundraising and giving vehicles, website, mobile, and email programs.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of multichannel direct marketing
  • Familiarity with segmentation strategies using a large constituent database.
  • Knowledge of office software required and fluency with a fundraising database. Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Health care experience preferred but not required.

 

Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the above requirements has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and expertise to perform the job's essential functions.

 

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $100,000.00p/yr. to $110,000.00p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.

 

Unless otherwise specified, all posted opportunities are located in the New York or Greater Tri-State office locations.
