Responsibilities

This position is responsible for routine tasks associated with the installation, service and calibration of a diverse range of biomedical instrumentation used in manufacture, storage, and diagnostic testing applications.

 

  • Performs scheduled calibration, validation, and preventive maintenance of portable
    equipment/instruments (e.g. Terumo Optia, blood warmer and Cell Saver Elite etc. This list is not all inclusive).
  • Performs pre-installation validation prior to new equipment use.
  • Participates in project teams as related to the Biomedical Department.
  • Performs equipment/instrumentation repair when appropriate.
  • Performs training for the department, organizes training, assigns trainers, and maintains
    training records.
  • Performs maintenance and repair on manufacturing centrifuge systems.
  • Demonstrates initiative and concern for planning, time utilization, and cost containment.
  • Participate in project teams related to the Biomedical Department.
  • Creates weekly meetings to update the leadership team on challenges & opportunities.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records/documents related services performed on each piece of equipment or instrument.
  • Communicates and interprets intermediate information in English to all members of the public and CCS staff.
  • Makes recommendations to improve organizational processes.
  • Any related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or educational equivalent would be required.
  • Certification or associate’s degree program in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology, to become familiar with biomedical devices common to a blood center facility preferred.

Experience:

  • This position requires a minimum of one year of experience as a Biomedical Technician III, Training in Cell Saver Elite, blood warmer & Optia repair or minimum of four years of experience servicing and maintaining of medical equipment required.

Licenses / Certifications:

  • Certification for Optia is required.
  • Cell Saver Elite maintenance & repair certification is required within in 6 months of employment.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed hiring rate $46.00p/hr. to $53.00p/hr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.

 

Unless otherwise specified, all posted opportunities are located in the New York or Greater Tri-State office locations.
